Karlie Kloss is no spring chicken when it comes to the modeling game. In fact, if you said supermodel and asked them for the first names that come to mind, her name would probably come up in the first minute. Kloss made a name for herself after debuting her modeling career with an editorial shoot with Scene. This was just the beginning for Kloss as depicted in her interview with the brand. As described on the company’s blog, “Starting her modeling career in high school, Karlie soon left her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri for New York City and a life in front of the camera.”
As Karlie Kloss grew older, she expanded into the business and philanthropy sectors. Now her reputation in business and charity circles is just as renowned as her impact on the modeling industry. Kloss always emphasized the people (and fans) that got her there. She tries to maintain an honest connection with them via her youtube channel where she gives people a look inside her daily life. As she continues to grow her mounting career highlights, she always remembers that first foremost she’s a role model as reflected in her videos.
Given her extensive following, she focuses on setting a positive example for youth today showing people what they can do when they put their minds to it. It’s also important to not that this model mastered both beauty and brains. Kloss recently took an added interest in coding and the lack of female representation in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) careers. She made it her personal mission to combat the problem through her organization Kode with Klossy. As Karlie Kloss explained in her interview, “I took my first coding class because I wanted to understand how the technology that was changing not only my industry, but every industry, worked. After taking that class, I had this “a-ha” moment. There’s no limit to what you can build with code, and with access to the learning and incredible teachers, everyone can learn.”
The internationally renowned brand is often represented by the famous and fabulous, so Kloss will not be alone in her newest pursuit. As described on Tatler, “The model, entrepreneur and philanthropist joins the current roster of Estée Lauder spokesmodels Carolyn Murphy, Fei Fei Sun, Gabriella Wilde, Hilary Rhoda, Joan Smalls, Kendall Jenner, Misty Copeland and Yang Mi.” Talk about a top-tier group to hang out with.
